 About Us
...currently making history

Our mission is to blur the lines between beauty and oddity.  To take the scraps of the past and and meld them seamlessly with modern culture.

Many mediums will be explored at anode throughout the span of time.
Most of the paintings would be considered lowbrow or pop surrealism.  And while the subject matter may seem unapproachable to some, all will be able to appreciate the skill used in creating the pieces.

There is a burgeoning focus on functional art including wearable pieces, furniture and lighting.  All work is crafted by hand with the utmost care.  The resident artists can be commissioned to do custom pieces as well.

Anode will be featuring local artists as well as artists from across the country.  We welcome submissions (see below).

                             Renee Vande Kolk

While dealing mostly with the more mundane issue of running the gallery, Renee is currently honing her skills as a seamstress.  She dabbles in clothing, costumes, and home furnishings.  She also enjoys creating purely aesthetic pieces.

 Submissions
We always want to encourage, support and promote other working artists.  If you would like us to consider showing your work in our gallery, please email some examples of your work to info@anodegallery.com.  Don't forget to give us all necessary information.  Full name, email, phone number, average size of your work, mediums worked with, a brief artist resume or history, and any other pertinent information.  Oftentimes there will be show themes and your work will be expected to represent the theme.  This may mean that a new piece will have to be made in order to be shown.  Please also include the name of the upcoming show in which you are interested in being included, if any.

In the end, all work that is shown in our gallery is at our discretion as is the amount of space allotted in the gallery.  As time and creative space are valuable, there will be a $20 submission fee once your art has been accepted.  It can be paid by cash, credit card or money order and dropped off at the gallery, or by using PayPal.
